Yemen, November 2008
During the first 10 months of 2008 nearly 40.000 people arrived as refugees on the coasts of Yemen. At that time 873 people had lost their lives in the dangerous voyage.
The ones that survived were lucky, but life in Yemen is not easy. Most refugees end up in refuge camps among 100.000 of other refugees whos lifes seem stuck in these giant camps. Others go to the cities to earn money, but it's difficult to survive in a country that are one of the poorest in the world.
Nevertheless everyday new boats filled with refugees arrive on the coast of Yemen. Therefore many refuges choose to continue their journey and walk by foot to Saudi Arabia in hope of getting a job there. Everywhere along the coast flocks of people are going through the desert in search for a better life.
